"And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart..." Ephesians 5:18-19 ESV

New Message Series Beginning September 2, 2018

Throughout the month of August 2018, Thelma Baptist Church focused on prayer. Participating in the 21 Days of Prayer with Church of the Highlands, people gather every weekday morning at 6AM and Saturdays at 9AM for a time of worship and prayer. It was powerful!

As September begins, a new focus is in view. It seems natural to move right out of a prayer focus into worship. Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs is a message series that takes a look at the Biblical perspective on personal and corporate worship. Specifically, we will take a close look at music as an expression of the Holy Spirits filling in our lives. The series will also include a lot of special music; both during the morning services and the evening ones.

September 30, 2018 - Staff Led Worship

In my studies and preparation, I came across this verse:
Psalm 33:1 “Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright.”
"Praise befits the upright." What does that mean? It means that praise is a natural fit for anyone who has a right relationship with God. In other words... praise looks good on you!

Join us for an incredible journey of discovering truth in the scripture and deepening our relationship with Christ. Let's worship God in Spirit and in truth this Sunday! See you there!
